Dear San Juan County Neighbors and Friends,
We Need Your Help!
First, we want to thank each and every one of you who have contributed to the CSA legal fund. We simply could not have come this far without you. THANK YOU!
By Friday, September 6, we will have a decision by the Growth Management Hearings Board (GMHB) on the various petitions before them pursuant to review of the County’s Critical Areas Ordinance (CAO).
As you know this has been an extremely costly process and we are pleased to report that with your contributions so far, we have met all of our legal obligations to Sandy Mackie and Perkins Coie – and on time. We do, however, have one remaining invoice that is due shortly, and CSA urgently needs your help to meet that commitment.
Thereafter, and depending upon the GMHB ruling on September 6, CSA will be in a position to either continue the litigation process, or not (reducing our financial obligations and budget dramatically). Going forward, CSA’s decisions and commitments will be based upon new initiatives, and we believe that these costs should be far more predictable. Moreover, we will advise you of our planned approaches to new issues that may generate financial obligations. As always, we will communicate by newsletter, email, telephone call or in person so that you are aware of these anticipated expenditures in advance.
If you wish to discuss CSA’s financial condition in more detail, any aspect of the current invoice, as well as any of our new initiatives currently in the planning stage, please give me a call.
This has been a huge hill to climb and we thank you, again, for your ongoing and generous financial support. Please mail your tax-deductible donations to the following address:
