Dear Friends:

We recently obtained your email address either:
1.    From Senator Pam Roach’s office following the April 17 joint senate committee workshop on the Shoreline Management Act; or
2.    From a friend of yours who asked CSA to invite you to our recent event in Seattle on May 10th entitled “Taking a Stand on Properpty Rights.”
We would like to introduce you to the Common Sense Alliance (CSA) here in San Juan County, where we share the same concerns as we understand you do about the over-reach of the Department of Ecology (DOE) through the Critical Area Ordinance (CAO) and the Shoreline Management Plans (SMPs).
Here are some facts and background about CSA:
~ CSA’s mission is to promote a robust economy, a clean environment and a harmonious community for all Islanders.
~ CSA is a local, grassroots, volunteer organization and a non-profit corporation. We have been working on behalf of San Juan County citizens for the past five years.
~ CSA speaks for the interests of property owners and against burdensome and ill-conceived restrictions on the use of property.  We stand for the proper application of state law and science in the development of regulations, and we employ professional scientists and attorneys to make the case.
~ CSA’s board members come from islands throughout San Juan County and represent a variety of backgrounds, professions and political philosophies.
If you would like to know what is happening in our County with regard to government activities and regulations that affect you, please visit our website: www.commonsensealliance.net.  There you will find an extensive library of CSA’s history; learn about who we are; and find out how to help us by donating to our legal fund.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email.  I sincerely hope you will support Common Sense Alliance and our efforts to find a balance between our island way of life, our economy and our environment.
You can be assured that we will not contact you again at this email address should you choose to unsubscribe. The unsubscribe option is available at the bottom of this newsletter below the black line.
